Protection for dogs and cats can be increased through effective policies, legislation, and practices. IFAW advocates that companion animals are entitled to lives that are free of cruelty and distress. To that end, we lobby legislators to improve laws that will safeguard cats and dogs. Animal-friendly legislation and policies improve the welfare of companion animals. In China, IFAW is working with the government to establish their very first national animal protection laws.
